New England
New England has all of the seasons — sometimes in one day. Springtime in New England brings forth an abundance of colorful wildflowers. Summer means being on the water from swimming boating and kayaking on the Essex River. Autumn is everyone’s favorite season. The leaves change to brilliant colors as the air becomes crisp. Then in winter, the snows blanket everything in white. An empty canvas for painters and photographers.
The variety of seafood is endless. In the morning you can hear the blast of the fog horns as lobster boats leave the harbors. Clams along the Clam Highway along the North Shore (of Boston) with a focus on Essex. Oysters are plentiful on The Cape (Cod). After lunch, board a whale watching vessel.
Or take a tour of historical homes with their brilliantly colored front doors. If you stopped at every historical marker, it would take a lifetime. The old stacked stone walls are lined up on narrow roads.
The landscape offers diversity too from the White Mountains to the vast sandy beaches. But you can take a day trip to another state entirely. There are many scenic drives to pick from.
And where you may wander, New England stays with you…
